After being briefed at MWO, we went to Inferno as a large group to have a talk with one of members of one of the UK's fastest growing independent agencies.

Paul Mann started as a copyrighter but progressed into a brand new role called a content farmer. He spoke to us stating how important work experience is as well as showcasing some of Inferno's greatest work. One account in which they're really proud of winning was the Nokia one for their new windows phone. They've created some fantastic work backing this strong campaign. Here are some of my favourites;

I really like the essence of their campaign portraying a revolutionary friendly phone with the use of bright boldly coloured squares as their theme. I also love the way the art direction has been angled. The slight 3D twist in the videos and print mediums make it stand out even though it's subtle.

Paul also gave us an interesting story into where he was today. Essentially he went to London during the year doing various placements until Inferno offered him one. he was there for 7 months until he plucked up the courage to ask whether he could have a permanent job. He has now been working there for 3 years. It was also interesting him mentioning that these days, agencies expect you to be partnered with someone else when doing placements. This was something I didn't realise was something they always consider.

To end this eye opening talk, Paul spoke about the young creative council in which he helps run. It's a website where young advertising creatives can express their work and gain exposure while exploring the power of communication through a range of different media. It's a great way to meet new people in the same field while being a great source for inspiration. Personally, I've had a look today and already found some very interesting stuff worth blogging about.
